In September 2024, Odong Prestasi Indonesia is proud to introduce the Esports Leadership Academy (ELA), a comprehensive program aimed at developing leadership and management skills within the esports industry in Indonesia. This program is specifically designed to support the growth of the esports industry at the university level, involving nine American Corners across Indonesia.
Background and Objectives This program stems from the need for strong leadership within the esports industry, particularly among Indonesian youth who have great potential to compete on the international stage. Through collaboration with the American Corner Indonesia network and support from the U.S. Embassy, the Esports Leadership Academy will provide in-depth training in esports club management, event organization, and EA FC tournaments. The program aims to cultivate leaders who are ready to elevate Indonesia’s esports industry to the next level.
Training Program and Activities The Esports Leadership Academy offers a comprehensive curriculum covering various critical aspects of esports management and leadership. Participants will receive training in team management, strategic planning, financial management, legal aspects and ethics, as well as communication and public relations. Additionally, the program will include mentorship sessions led by professional Indonesian esports players, along with technical training in tournament organization.
The program will be conducted in a hybrid format, combining online and in-person sessions planned to run from September 2024 to March 2025. Alongside online mentoring sessions, in-person workshops will cover the technical aspects of esports tournaments, and offline tournaments will be held at the nine American Corners in February 2025. The program will culminate in an inter-American Corner online tournament in March 2025, bringing together all participants from the program.
Support and Partnerships The Esports Leadership Academy is fully supported by American Spaces Indonesia, the U.S. Consulate General in Surabaya, and various institutions and organizations committed to the development of esports in Indonesia. Each American Corner will provide facilities, esports equipment, and internet access to ensure the smooth execution of this program. Through this initiative, we aim to establish a sustainable esports club management model at each American Corner, with the capability to independently recruit, train, and organize tournaments.
Target Audience and Impact This program will involve approximately 450 participants from nine American Corners across Indonesia, primarily targeting university students aged 17 to 25 who are highly interested in esports, particularly EA FC. Through this program, we aim to enhance participants’ skills in esports management and leadership, encouraging them to contribute to the growth of the esports industry in Indonesia.
Conclusion The Esports Leadership Academy is a strategic initiative to shape the future leaders of the Indonesian esports industry. With the support of various stakeholders, we believe this program will have a lasting positive impact on the participants and the esports industry in Indonesia. We invite you to support this transformational program and join us in fostering the future of skilled, active, and inspiring young leaders.
